Similar to now, there will be two main ways to access care: via Telephone or Online.

Whichever route you choose, you will be asked a range of questions to help our Clinical Triage team assess and direct your request to the best place to meet your needs.

Your request will be handled in exactly the same manner whether you complete the form online yourself, or contact us via telephone, where our call handlers will ask exactly the same questions as the online system. This ensures equity of access for all patients.

As a result, we would encourage all patients who can do so to use the online form, as this will prevent you needing to queue on the telephone, and keep lines free for those who cannot use the online form.

Online form completion also provides you with more discretion should you prefer to not discuss your request with one of our staff.

Except for certain specific enquiries which do not require triage, an appointment will not be booked during your initial contact with the Practice. Our Clinical Triage team will assess your request and you may be contacted the same day and offered the most appropriate appointment or service to meet your needs. This may be a face-to-face or telephone appointment with a GP, Nurse or other clinician, or we may refer you to other services or recommend self-care.

Requests which are assessed to be urgent will be prioritised with the aim of seeing or speaking to you on the same day. All appointments will be booked according to urgency and clinical need, and not just on a first-come first-served basis.

If you have a preference to see a particular clinician, you can request this and we will take this into consideration, although we cannot guarantee that this can be honoured. You can rest assured however that whatever the outcome, your request will have been assessed by an experienced Clinician.
